Terms & Hire Conditions 

Please read the following terms before booking your camper van with Lets Explore NI By making a booking, you agree to these hire conditions and any rental agreement signed on collection. 

For full details of your rental agreement. 

Before you book 

• Minimum hire: 2 nights 

• Collection: 2pm from Lets Explore HQ in Bangor Co.Down 

• Return: 10:30am 

• Late check-out: Available for £35 and can be added at checkout 

• Sunday pick-ups with prior agreement necessary 

• Sunday drop-off is fine 

• Payment: Full payment is required at the time of booking 

• Security deposit: A £750 security deposit is required on collection by debit or credit card and will be returned within 10 days 

Driver requirements 

To hire and drive a Lets explore camper van, all drivers must: 

• Be aged 21–79 for Dolly, Foxy, Coco and Roxy 

• Be aged 25-79 for Alfie 

• Hold a full driving licence for at least 2 years 

• Have no more than one fault claim within the past 5 years 

Only approved drivers listed on the booking may drive the camper van. 

Motoring convictions 

Motoring convictions may affect your eligibility to hire. Minor convictions (up to 6 points) may be accepted. Higher-level offences, multiple convictions, or disqualifications may require additional approval or may not be accepted.

Lets Explore NI reserves the right to refuse hire if a driver does not meet the insurer's requirements. 

What to send us before your trip  

Note we require all information at least 48hrs prior to collection date to process your insurance

• A valid photo card driving licence (must be in date and show your current address)          
• A valid picture of the paper part of your driving licence showing any convictions 

• Two separate proofs of address dated within the last 90 days 

• The name and address on your driving licence must match both proof of address documents 

• A completed and signed rental agreement (signed on the day of collection) 

For non-UK licence holders, a passport must also be provided. 

Accepted proof of address 

Any two of the following, dated within 90 days of your hire start date: 

• Electricity, water or gas bill or statement 

• Broadband or landline bill 

• Council Tax bill 

• TV Licence 

• Bank or credit card statement 

• Mortgage statement 

• Polling card 

• HMRC self-assessment or tax credit documents 

• Student loan correspondence 

• Shotgun licence 

• Payslips 

• Pension letters 

• Car finance or loan statements 

• Property deeds 

• Mobile phone bills

Please note if we do not recieve  the required information at least 48hrs prior to the camper van collection day we will not be able to process a valid insurance cover for you so unfortunately your booking will be cancelled.
  

Payment & cancellation 

Full payment is required at the time of booking. 

If you need to cancel your booking, the following refund terms apply: 

• More than 30 days before collection: 80% refund 

• Within 30 days of collection: 50% refund 

• Within  48 hours of collection: No refund 

Your £750 security deposit will be returned within 10 days of your return, provided the camper van is returned in the same condition and without damage. 

Booking amendments 

If you need to change your booking dates after confirmation, amendment fees apply (excluding any additional extras): 

• More than 14 days before collection: 10% of the original booking cost 

• Within 14 days of collection: 25% of the original booking cost 

• Within 7 days of collection: Booking dates cannot be amended 

All amendment requests are subject to availability. 

What's included in your hire 

• Insurance for one approved driver 

• 24/7 breakdown cover 

• Gas for cooking if applicable  

• Pots, pans, cutlery, plates and kitchen essentials 

• Fuel supplied at a minimum of quarter tank 

• Vans must be returned with fuel level the same when hired at least 

• Free on-site parking (parking is at customers own risk) 

• Unlimited mileage for Foxy and Alfie camper vans when hired for a week or more, restricted to 160 miles per days hire otherwise

• Restricted mileage of 150 miles per day for total hire time for Roxy, Coco and Dolly camper vans 
• Additional mileage charge per mile is 30 pence 
  

What's not included 

• M50 toll charges 

• Additional cleaning if the camper van is not returned in a similar condition to how it was collected 

• Out-of-hours collection or return 

• Any fines, penalties or charges incurred during the hire period 

If you pass through the M50 toll, please pay it online. A £30 admin fee will apply to any unpaid tolls. 

Collection & return 

Collection takes place from Lets Explore HQ, Bangor Co.Down at 2pm, unless otherwise agreed. 

Return is by 10:30am on the agreed end date of hire. 

Late check-out may be available for £35, subject to availability and must be added at checkout. 

Sunday pick-ups are not available unless agreed, although Sunday returns are permitted. 

Please return the camper van clean and tidy, with all included items returned. 

Additional terms 

All drivers must comply with UK driving laws and regulations throughout the hire period. 

Failure to provide the required documentation or meet eligibility criteria may result in the hire being declined. 

Further terms apply in the rental agreement signed on collection.
